A Stigan Media Client Guide

If your website is built using X Theme or Pro by Themeco, you’ll be editing pages using the Cornerstone builder (the visual page builder that comes with the theme).

It we built your site, chances are we used either X Theme or Pro, but if you are unsure, just double check with us.

Below are the most common edits our clients need to make.

1. How to Update Copy (Text)

Step-by-step:

  • Log into your WordPress dashboard
  • Go to Pages
  • Hover over the page you want to edit
  • Click Edit with Cornerstone

Once inside the visual builder (Cornerstone):

  • Click directly on the text you want to change
  • The text editor panel will open on the right
  • Update your copy in the text field
  • Formatting options (bold, headings, links, alignment) are available in the toolbar
  • Click Save (top right) when finished
  • Click Preview to double-check your changes

Helpful tips:

  • Keep headings structured (H2 for section titles, H3 for subsections)
  • Avoid pasting directly from Word or Google Docs — paste into a plain text editor first to remove formatting
  • Always review spacing after editing, sometimes the live version will appear differently than in the editor.

2. How to Change Images

To replace an existing image:

  • Open the page in Edit with Cornerstone
  • Click on the image you want to replace
  • In the right panel, click on the thumbnail preview of the currently selected image
  • The media selector will pop-up, you can select an image from the Media Library
    - or -
Click Upload Files to add a new one
  • Confirm selection
  • Click Save

Before uploading images:

  • Resize images to web-appropriate dimensions (usually 1500–2000px wide for banners)
  • Compress the file for faster loading, sometimes just converting from a .png to .jpg will shrink the photo enough for web-use.
  • Name files descriptively (e.g., “team-photo-maple-ridge.jpg”).
Pro Tip: After changing an image, preview the page on desktop and mobile to ensure proper alignment and cropping.

  • Choose the section type (Regular is most common)

Then:

    Image

    Select the element you need:

    • Text
    • Image
    • Button
    • Headline
    • Gap
    • etc.

    Customize the new section by:

    • Adjusting padding and spacing
    • Setting background colour or image
    • Modifying typography and alignment
    • Click Save when finished.
Pro Tip: If you are adding a section to a page created but us, a super easy way to add more content is to Duplicate one of the already created sections. This way, all you have to do is edit the text and update the images, and all of the formatting, responsiveness (mobile formatting) and/or styling is done for you. Make sure to check on both desktop and mobile once you have Saved the page!
